Besides being incredibly relaxing and enjoyable, reading really does make you smarter. A well-stocked and fully consumed bookshelf will keep you focused on important leadership and management principles—some of which you might already have learned but need reminding of, and others that can spur challenges and opportunities to grow.

This month the books I am reading are all about getting better at executing your plan. You can find these books and more at https://www.amazon.com/shop/sandlertrainingdtb

The first book is “The Road to Excellence: 6 Leadership Strategies to Build a Bulletproof Business” by Dave Mattson. Sandler Training is known for delivering sales training and we do that very well. But we also spend our days working with business owners looking to make their entire company better. This book is a great resource as it provides a simple sequence of priorities to raise your business through the 4 stages of excellence.

The second book is “Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business” by Gino Wickman. While the Road to Excellence lays out a path for business owners to follow as they make their way towards building a great business, Traction lays out the actual operating system your business needs to be truly excellent. You’ll discover simple yet powerful ways to run your company that will give you and your leadership team more focus, more growth, and allow you more enjoyment.

The third book for July is “Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap...And Others Don't” by Jim Collins. First published in the 1990s, this book withstood the test of time and continues to provide lessons for businesses of all sizes. While some books provide the process and other the tactics, no book has ever made the philosophy of running a great company easier to understand.

You may have already read these books or you may not have. You also might be interested in going back and reading these books to see what “new” knowledge you find in them. Either way I hope this list helps and I will continue update my list of books as I read them.
